HomeworkWe understand you like to help your child, but it is their responsibility to have their homework handed in on time.
Students are expected to spend 45-60 minutes on homework each night, in addition to 20 minutes of outside reading and 20 minutes of practicing math facts. (Please refer to student/parent handbook, page 7). Students are expected to complete all homework that is assigned in their agenda. Homework is due the following day, unless otherwise noted. For example, Reading/Math logs are always due Friday Morning. Students are expected to have their homework completed prior to the start of reviewing the assignment as a whole class. Students are required to turn in their homework after reviewing. If homework is not handed in during the time of collection, it is considered late. If for some reason a student does not complete or hand in their homework, they are given the opportunity to turn in the completed assignment, the very next day. After that two-day window, the assignments still needs to be completed and turned in, but it will be marked down 5 points every day it is late. If it is not turned in by the end of the week, it is a zero. Remember, Reading Logs are collected every Monday at the beginning of the week. In order for your child to receive credit, the reading log must be completed and signed by you and your child. If you and your child are finding the homework to be too challenging, or for some reason you decide your child is unable to complete it, the assessment should be handed in with a note from you on it. I always want my students to try and will take into consideration anything you write to me. All homework should be legible. If I cannot read it, it will be marked wrong
